Florence:
Edward Lee Walker, age 60, of Florence, Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain.
He was born August 12, 1945, in Waukegan, Ill., son of the late John and Ruby (Miller) Walker.
Ed grew up in Phelps, Wis. He joined the United States Army. On November 17, 1966, he married Gail Kugler at Fort Carson, Colorado. They resided there a year and a half while in the service. Then they moved to Hartford, Wis., from 1968-1993, then Aurora, Wis., and finally Florence, Wis. Edward was employed at Grede Foundry for 33 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood carving and gardening.
Survivors include his wife Gail, two sons, Gordon (Ann) Walker, Aurora, Wis., William Walker, Florence, Wis; one sister Judy Carlson, Phelps, Wis; and six grandchildren, Vanessa, Kristal, Max, Zack, Morgan and Erin.
Besides his parents, Edward was preceded in death by one brother, John Walker and one sister, Jerri Brown.
Visitation will be Friday, July 14, 2006, from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Lundholm Funeral Home of Florence, Wis. The American Legion Post 211 of Florence will offer a Veterans Memorial Service, Friday, 4:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be Friday, 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Doug Johnson will officiate.
