Edward Lee (Buck) Osieczonek, 61, Iron Mountain, passed away Friday, September 12, 2008, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain. He was born August 25, 1947 in Iron Mountain, son of Sylvester and Elaine (Fontecchio) Osieczonek. Ed was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain and attended Iron Mountain School. Ed went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps for two years. After being discharged, he moved back to Iron Mountain. He worked for Markell Roofing and the Community Action Agency as a supervisor for many years. Ed was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church, Kingsford. He enjoyed reading western novels, going to rummage sales, spending time with his family and friends and was an avid collector of Zippo Lighters, and recently traveled to Zippo's main headquarters in Pennsylvania, for the 75th Anniversary Convention. He is survived by his mother, Elaine, Hyland Nursing Home; three sons, Edward Lee Osieczonek, Jr., Sam (Lori) Osieczonek, both of Iron Mountain, Jonathan Osieczonek, Pembine; one brother, Bruce (Cher) Osieczonek, Colorado; one sister, Lynn (George) Fitzgerald, Escanaba; one granddaughter, Joleigh Joy Osieczonek; many nieces, nephews; two special friends, Cristine Nelson and Jean Haanpaa, both of Iron Mountain. Ed was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester. Joseph Gouin will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
