Edward R. Curtis, 58, Crystal Falls, died Sunday, December 23, 2007, at Marquette General Hospital, Marquette.
He was born October 28, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Edward L. and Geraldine (Gibson) Curtis. On April 20, 1974, in Iron River, he married Frances Contardi. She survives.
Ed was a retired lineman for the telephone company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Tufts-Rondon Post No. 2891 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had a passion for golf, enjoyed hunting and riding his harley.
Survivors include his wife, Frances "Petey" Curtis, daughters Apryll D. Curtis, Laila VanderWall, all of Crystal Falls; four brothers, Thomas (Teresa) Curtis, Waterford, Calif., Michael Curtis, Marinette, Wis., Patrick (Cindy) Curtis, Kingsford, Mich., Roy Curtis, Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister, Kim Curtis, Kingsford; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2007, at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. Rev. Dino Silvestrini will officiate. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. Monday until the time of services at the funeral home.
