Edna V. Tredray-Hillman, 91, of Florence, Wis., passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Dickinson County Health Care System, Iron Mountain.
She was born June 23, 1922, in Hancock, Mich., daughter of the late Herbert and Olga Manninen. Edna grew up in Hancock and graduated from Hancock High School. She married Robert Tredray in Hancock and they later moved to South Milwaukee; he preceded her in death in 1960. While residing in Milwaukee, she worked for Ladish Corporation for many years before retiring. Edna later married Ralph Hillman in Milwaukee and they owned and operated Hillman Florist for many years, before retiring. They relocated to Cambridge, Wis. Ralph preceded her in death in 2008. She then moved to Menominee Falls, Wis. with her niece, Romaine Lauridsen, to be closer to her great-niece, Lisa Mitchell. In February of this year Edna moved to Florence.
Edna was an avid skater, she enjoyed golfing but most of all her home was always open; she loved receiving family into her home at any time.
She is survived by two step-daughters, Kathy (Roman) Bryzgal and Carol (Robert) Dufult, both of South Milwaukee; two step-grandchildren; her loving niece, Romaine Lauridsen, Florence and her children, Lisa (Donald) Mitchell and their children Jack and Joe, West Allis, Wis., Donald (Christina) Lauridsen and their children Dempsey and Shawn, Kingsford, Mich., Shawn (Lindsey Hilltonen) Lauridsen, Amasa, Mich. and many other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 10, 2014, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The family will offer a Celebration of Life Prayer at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, L'Anse, Mich. in the spring.
