Edna V. Hallada, age 86, of Crystal Falls, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at her home.
She was born May 28, 1919 in Alpha daughter of the late Isaac and Olga (Rantanen) Maki. On March 25, 1940 she married Francis G. Hallada in Milwaukee, Wis. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1983.
Edna graduated from Alpha High school and was the president of her senior class and was active in debate and basketball. She attended Badger-Green Bay Business College. She was a secretary for the Superintendent's office at the Alpha School. Edna was an active member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church, she taught CCD, was a member of the Parish Council and volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul Society. She enjoyed dancing, spending time with family and friends, and will always be remembered for her kindness and compassion for everyone.
Survivors include one daughter, Virginia (Victor) "Ginny" Koski, Crystal Falls; two sons, Francis (JoAnne) Hallada, Urbandale, Iowa, Marc (Cheryl) Hallada, Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister, Lillian (Victor) Toivonen, Ontonogan; one brother, Voldi (Mary) Maki, Austin, Tex., and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Francis Hallada, and one infant sister Helmi Maki.
Visitation will be held at the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2006. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Rev Ray Valerio will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
