Obituary

Iron Mountain: Edith T. Romagnoli, age 87 of Iron Mountain, passed away Monday, August 22, 2005 at Manor Care Health Services in Kingsford. She was born October 6, 1917, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Primo and Fernanda (Garietti) Ranocchia. Edith married Herman Romagnoli on November 2, 1933, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1990. They lived in Scranton and then Bridgeport, Connecticut for a few years before moving to Iron Mountain in 1948. Edith worked as a master seamstress in Iron Mountain for many years. She was known as an excellent seamstress who enjoy working and visiting with all of her customers. She was an active girl scout leader, campfire leader, a member of the Dickinson Area Paisano Club, and helped counsel many unwed teenage mothers in the area. Edith attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Survivors include her two daughters Sylvia (Robert) Mann of Chicago, Illinois and Cynthia (Gerald) Romagnoli Connor of Woodridge, Illinois, one sister Velma of Scranton, Pennsylvania, five grandchildren; Stephen, Stuart, Adam, Laurie, and Elise, seven great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, August 25 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral service will be Thursday 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain. Memorials can be made to the charity of your choice in her memory.
