Obituary

Edith Irene Enstrom, 92, of Crystal Falls, went to be with the Lord she loved on June 20, 2011, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain. She was born on March 16, 1919, in Felch, daughter of the late Herman and Anna (Mattson) Anderson. Edith graduated from Felch High School, Class of 1937. On July 28, 1940, she married Rudolph Enstrom. He preceded her in death on September 25, 2007. Edith and Rudy made their home in Crystal Falls, but also lived in Scottsdale, Ariz., for several years. Edith was a charter member and co-founder of the former Faith Baptist Church (Lakeview Bible Church) of Crystal Falls and was the Church Historian and former secretary of the Women's BCW. Edith and Rudy spent twenty-five years in the tourist industry renting their cottages on Liver Lake in Crystal Falls during summer months, making many lifelong friends including Dennis and Fran Brooks and family of Wolcott, Ind. Edith traveled along with her husband during the years he was designing and promoting his aviation exploits. She enjoyed reading, sewing, decorating her home, baking/cooking, picking berries then making delicious homemade pies for her family and friends, writing and reading poetry, and spending time at their cottage on Fortune Lake. Edith always enjoyed sharing a good cup of coffee and dearly loved her family. She is survived by three daughters, Carole (Jim Tikkenen) Enstrom, Marquette, Connie (Larry) Sandri, Dallas, Tex., and Crystal Falls, Kay (Joe) Arcand, Crystal Falls; six grandchildren, Lisa Gullo-Kahnke, Hancock, Aurora Williams-Enstrom, Harvey, John "Eric" Enstrom, Windsor, Colo., Sean Sandri, Kim Sandri, and Todd (Jennifer) Sandri, all of Dallas, Tex.; one step-granddaughter, Sarajo (Arcand) Vidor, Traverse City; six great-grandchildren, Tai and Devin Gullo-Kahnke, Alice DeVries, Tristan Rushing, Mason Vidor, Madison Ruth; one sister, Ethel Dixon, Felch; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Edith was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank Anderson, Warner Anderson, Sigfrid Anderson, and Eskil Anderson. A private family graveside service will be held. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls. We love you mom and will miss you. Psalms 119:49-50. Rest in peace.
