Duane "Geezer" Youren, of Quinnesec, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2012, with support from his family at the age of 70. He was born on May 17, 1942, to the late Fredrick and Marie (LaCousier) Youren. Duane was a 1960 graduate of Kingsford High School. He entered the Marine Corps where he received an honorable discharge. Duane married his wife of 50 years Nancy (Edwards) Youren on September 2, 1961. Duane was a successful electrician, businessman and enjoyed his position at the Dunes in Las Vegas as a Security Guard. He enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling, golf and a variety of sports. Duane is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; two children, Cheryl (Youren) Spencer, Millersville, Md., Michelle Pilkington, Port Lions, Alaska; one brother, Terry (Liz) Youren, Niagara; one sister Darlene Youren, Iron Mountain; two grandchildren Lance Corporal Louis "Douglas" Saunders II, USMC and Dorian Saunders of Gambrills, Md.; many extended family, cousins, nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, Duane was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jeffrey Youren who passed on September 6, 2008. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at American Martyrs Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. Rev. Joseph Gouin will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
