Sagola- Duane E. Johnson, 62, of Sagola, Mich., passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Florence Health Services, Florence, Wisc.

He was born February 5, 1963, in Oshkosh, Wisc., son of the late Donald and Phyllis (Mitchell) Johnson. Duane grew up in Idaho, Minnesota, and Rapid River before moving to Sagola in the spring of 1979. He worked for 18 ½ years as a mechanic for Smeester Brothers, and then for 35 years as a mechanic for Trailer.

Duane loved working and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his brothers, Carl (Bonnie) Johnson and Donald Johnson, both of Sagola; and one sister, Theresa (Keith) Brewer of Mead, Wash.

A private graveside service will take place in the Channing Cemetery in Spring.

A Celebration of Duane's life will be announced this summer.
