Dr. Clifford D. Tobin, 99, of Iron Mountain, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013, at Freeman's Nursing Home, Kingsford, Mich.
He was born October 29, 1913, in Channing, Mich., son of the late William and Molly (Rouse) Tobin. Cliff was a World War II Veteran where he served as a dental officer in the 7th army, 66th army infantry Battalion. He served in North Africa, Rome Arno, Southern France, Rhineland and Central Europe.
Cliff graduated from Marquette University Dental School. He served as a dentist in Niagara, Wis., and Iron Mountain.
He is survived by his children, David (Joyce) Tobin, Corrine Tobin, Jim (Bev) Tobin; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild to be born January 2014.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Lindeman Tobin; four brothers, Bill, Leigh, Robert, Pat; three sisters, Eloise, Mary and Anne.
Private graveside services will take place at Sagola Twp. Cemetery, Channing.
A celebration of "Doc's" life will take place 2:00 p.m., October 26, 2013, Freeman Nursing Home.
The family suggests that donations in Doc Tobin's memory be made to a charity of your choice.
