Dorothy L. Watson, 101, of Niagara, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, at Maryhill Manor Nursing Home, Niagara.
She was born August 15, 1912, in Detroit, Mich., daughter of the late Vernon and Buella (Phillips) Hess.
Dorothy grew up in Detroit and attended school there. She married Orlo Watson in 1932, in Salem, Ark. and he preceded her in death in 1997. They resided in Thayer, Mo., and then moved to Adrian, Mich., where they resided their married life. Dorothy moved to Niagara in 2003, to be closer to her son. She was a member of the Niagara Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. Dorothy had many hobbies which included crocheting, knitting, and reading.
She is survived by two sons, Robert (Nancy) Watson, Bisbee, Ariz. and Richard Watson, Iron Mountain, Mich.; one sister, Alice Ehnis, Yuma, Ariz.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband Orlo, she was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Hess; two sisters, Joyce Darling and Marie Komm.
In accordance with Dorothy's wishes private family visitation and services were held.
