Dorothy M. Nachel, age 91, of Kingsford, passed away Friday, February 9, 2007, at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford. She was born May 28, 1915, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of the late Arthur and Emma (Nagel) Lorenz. Dorothy graduated from Englewood High School in Chicago. She married Edward J. Nachel December, 24, 1938, in Chicago. When Ed retired in August 1976, they moved to the Upper Peninsula. Ed preceded her in death September 21, 1997, they were married for 58 years. Dorothy worked at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for many years as a volunteer. Dorothy is survived by a son, Edward (Cyndie) Nachel; one daughter, Carol; four grandchildren, Penny (Mark) Melchoir, David (Kirsten) Wright, Jessica (Kevin) DeVries, and Shelly (Trevor) Brown.
