Doris C. Zanola, 85, formerly of Norway, died Saturday at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.
Mrs. Zanola was born May 8, 1910, in Powers, daughter of the late John and Domenica Casanova. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Mrs. Zanola lived and worked in Milwaukee for many years before moving to Custer, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Blaise Zanola in 1977. After her husband died, she lived in Norway until entering the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility.
Mrs. Zanola was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway. She loved gardening and reading.
She leaves nieces and nephews and many cousins in the Norway and Iron Mountain area.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Anton and Louis Casanova and two sisters, Agnes Marino and Mary Gatzow.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. today at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Parish prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Don Giesen.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at the funeral home and at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway. Fr. Ben Paris will officiate.
Burial will be in Norway Township Cemetery.
