Doris A. Frizzo, 68, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Monday, June 14, 2010, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison, Wis. She was born January 14, 1942, in Shawano County, Wis., daughter of the late Harold and Sophie (Schmidt) Reinke. Doris grew up in Shawano and moved to Crystal Falls as a Freshman in high school. She graduated from Forest Park High School, Class of 1960. Doris married John Frizzo on June 23, 1962, in Crystal Falls. They resided in Chicago, Ill. from 1962 until 1974, when they returned to Crystal Falls. Doris and John owned and operated Midtown Restaurant from 1974 until 1979, when they opened Crystal Manor where she was a cook until her retirement in 2005. After retirement, Doris was employed at Fob's Restaurant, Crystal Falls. She was a cook for women's league at the golf course for many years and also catered many occasions in Crystal Falls. Doris was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Doris is survived by her husband, John Frizzo; one son, John (Laura) Frizzo, Crystal Falls; four daughters, Kim (John) Jacobs, Iron Mountain, Mich., Marietta (Rob) Hartung, Norway, Mich., Johnnett (Peter) Eckerberg, Crystal Falls, Jacqueline (Jeff) Schiavo, Iron Mountain; 13 grandchildren, Joshua, Jessi, Dominic, Gina, Orion, Jennifer, Kyle, Nick, Ben,Madeline, John III, Andrea, Markie; four sisters, Nancy (James) Bowen, Jasper, Ark., Susan Reinke, L' Anse, Mich., Sally (Sam) Thurmond, Crete, Ill., Diane (Jerry) Jackson, Stager, Ill.; eight brothers, James (Florence) Reinke, Crystal Falls, Dale (Elaine) Reinke, Youngstown, Ohio, Charles Reinke, Phoenix, Ariz., Richard (Sharon) Reinke, Crystal Falls, John Reinke, Independence, Mo., Thomas (Barbara) Reinke, Bethel Springs, Tenn., Ted (Brenda) Reinke, Crystal Falls, Harold Reinke, Jr., Tucson, Ariz.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, June 17, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. The V.F.W. Auxiliary Post No. 2891 will conduct a memorial service, 4:00 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Prayers will be offered Friday, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 11:00 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. Rev. Jeffrey Kurtz will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls. Pallbearers will be Doris' seven brothers with Charles acting as honorary pallbearer.
