Donald M. Podner, 77, of Goodman, Wis., passed away Friday, September 19, 2014, at the Golden Living Center, Florence.
He was born March 27,1937, in Florence, son of the late John and Anna (Spolarich) Podner.
Donald grew up in Florence and graduated from Florence High School, Class of 1955. He married Yvonne Novak on July 2, 1960, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Florence. They resided in Florence until 1967, when they moved to Goodman. Donald worked in the logging industry as a logger until he retired in 2007.
He enjoyed woodworking, hunting deer and birds, listening to Polka music and watching the Green Bay Packers.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Yvonne; one son, Steven (Lisa) Podner, Goodman; one daughter, Julie (Duane) Harrison, Eden Prairie, Minn.; one brother, Matthew Podner, Spread Eagle, Wis.; three grand-children, Michael, Jennifer and Theron and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, John, Peter and Joseph and two sisters, Joann Goerke and Francis Henry.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 26, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Florence. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Fr. Matt Settle will officiate.
The family has chosen the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence to honor Donald's Legacy of Life.
