Donald Pietrantonio
IRON MOUNTAIN — Donald D. Pietrantonio, 69, of 717 East Stanton St., Iron Mountain, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
Donald was born Feb. 20, 1933, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Pasquale and Dora (Spera) Pietrantonio.
He was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain and a 1951 graduate of Iron Mountain High School. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Donald married Janice Osieczonek on Feb. 7, 1959, at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain.
Donald worked for Clairmont Transfer for 18 years and retired from there. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Donald enjoyed rabbit and bird hunting, and playing bingo at the VA Medical Center. He was a member of the Northland Beagle Club for many years as well as a volunteer at the VA Medical Center.
Donald is survived by his wife, Janice; a son, David (Deena) Pietrantonio of Iron Mountain; two daughters, Jodi Krokstrom of Appleton, Wis. and Donna Pietrantonio of Mackinac Island; a grandson, Anthony Pietrantonio of Iron Mountain; his mother-in-law, Dorothy J. Osieczonek of Iron Mountain; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
The family is being served by the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.
