Donald Lund, 91, of Florence, Wis., passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at the Golden Living Center, Florence.
He was born April 29, 1918, in Florence, son of the late Arthur and Laura (Harrison) Lund. Don was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Florence High School, Class of 1936. Don worked on gliders at the Ford Plant in Kingsford, Mich., and later worked at the Book Mine in Alpha, Mich., before retiring from the Florence County Road Commission.
Don spent any leisure time he had outdoors. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and trapping. Don caught his first trout on the Lamontangue Creek, Fence, Wis. He loved spending time with his friends at the Lamontangue Lodge hunting camp on the Brule River and often said, "I've lived a good life, and I have no complaints."
Survivors include, one sister, Gladys Hultgren, Peshtigo, Wis.; three nephews, Bruce (Marianne) Hultgren, Kailu, Hawaii, Rob (Jennifer) Hultgren, Fort Collins, Colo., David (Lydia) Hultgren, Walled Lake, Mich.; one niece, Beth Hultgren, Lansing, Mich.; one niece-in-law, Darlene Crago, Florence, Wis.; two great-nieces, Kim (Kent) Richmond, Florence, Kathy Crago, West Bend, Wis.; two great-nephews, Jeff (Gayla) Crago, Mike (Debbie) Crago, both of Florence; many other nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Eva Lund Crago Pack; a brother-in-law, Leonard Hultgren; and a nephew, Chuck Crago.

Visitation will be Monday, January 25, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Rev. Douglas Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Commonwealth Cemetery, Commonwealth, Wis., in the spring.
