Obituary

Donald C. Bowers, 56, of Florence, Wis., formerly of Ingleside, Ill., passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010, unexpectedly at his home. He was born September 29, 1953, in Chicago, Ill. Donnie attended Wheeling High School where he was a star baseball player. Donnie was a machinist and worked for Dublin Company for many years. He served in the United States Army from 1973 until 1976 when he was honorably discharged. Donnie was passionate about the Chicago Cubs baseball team and was actively involved with his nieces and nephews. Some of Donnie's pastimes included strumming the guitar, listening to his favorite band, the Beatles, and drinking an ice cold Old Style. He is survived by four brothers, Warren Brown, Gay, Mich., Larry (Charlotte) Brown, Channing, Mich., Ken Brown, Bob (Jamer) Brown, both of Ingleside Ill.; step-brothers and sisters, the Azure's, and their children, the Miller's, the Sullivan's and the Azure's; one niece, Catherine (Shawn) Curto; five nephews, Gary Brown, Jr., Dennis (Ella) Brown, Bobby (Yvette) Garcia, Tony Garcia, Joshua Brown; three great nieces, Julie Garcia, Allyssia Mercado, Shawna Curto; two great nephews, Gabriel Mercado, Luke Brown; great-great niece and nephew, Jeremy and Summer Breeze. Donnie was preceded in death by his mother and best friend, Shirley Azure; step-father, Lawrence Azure; his brother, Gary Brown, Sr.; his niece, Tina Garcia; his uncle, Robert Masten; and his paternal and maternal grandparents. Private family services were held.
