Dennis "Butch" Emery, 62, of Florence, Wis., passed away Monday, August 10, 2009, at his home.
He was born June 16, 1947, in Stambaugh, Mich., son of the late John and Eleanore (Olson) Emery. Butch was a lifelong resident of Florence and graduated from Florence High School, Class of 1965. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the United States Air Force from June 22, 1965 until December 24, 1968.
Butch worked on the road crew for the Town of Florence. He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, riding his motorcycle, and was an incorrigible flirt.
He is survived by three sons, John (Becky) Emery, Robert Emery, both of Sterling Heights, Mich., Chris; one daughter, Michelle (Tyson) Chamberlain, Sterling Heights, Mich.; one grandson, Tyler; one step-granddaughter, Cheyenne; two brothers, Craig Gilbert, Dean (Holly) Meyers, both of Florence; one sister, Dorothy (Wayne) Nichols, Florence; and a special friend, Heather "Hazel."
Butch was preceded in death by one sister, Trudy Honeycutt; and his step-father, Jim Meyers.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 15, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral service will be Saturday 5:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Rev. Douglas Johnson will officiate.
