Dennis E. Ekstrand, 75, of Fence, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at the Oscar G. Johnson Veteran's Medical Center, Iron Mountain. He was born January 7, 1939, in Braham, Minn., son of the late Edgar and Bertha (Olstrom) Ekstrand. Dennis was raised on a family farm in Minnesota and graduated from high school there. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army. Dennis married Ramona Bigalk in January, 2002. Dennis operated a funny farm in Fence where he raised a variety of different animals. Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Ramona and his dog Ladybug of Fence. In accordance with Dennis' wishes no public services will be held.
