Delbert E. Tipler, 78, of Altoona, Wis., passed away Monday, August 1, 2011, at Mayo Health Clinic, Eau Claire, Wis., with his family by his side.
He was born March 18, 1933, in Tipler, Wis., son of the late Vester and Luella (Steeno) Tipler. Del began his career in maintenance at a paper manufacturing plant in Green Bay. He later moved to Albany, Ga., to help build a plant for Proctor and Gamble, he later moved to Cinncinati, Ohio. Del also spent time in California and Pennsylvania directing the building of plants for P & G. He rose to Plant Manager in the P & G plant in Albany. He was proud to have worked on inventing the Bounty paper and Charmin toilet tissue. After retirement, he moved to Green Bay, Wis.
Del was an avid sportsman and loved both fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Rae; children, Cheyenne, 11, at home, Donald Tipler,Albany, Judy (Tom) Noel Marinette, Wis., Randy Tipler, Ohio, Tom (Kelly) Tipler, Green Bay, and Tim Tipler, Marinette; step-children, Loren Wahl, Neenah, Karen Jacobson, Eau Claire, Laura Graff, Green Bay, Jody Colson, Delevan, Kathleen Russ, Concord, NC; brothers, David Tipler, Tipler, Gerald Tipler, Albany; and sister, Donna Koeppel, Green Bay; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Del helped raise several other family children, all of whom expressed that he was a wonderful father to them.
Del was preceded by one brother, James Tipler.
The visitation will be Saturday, August 6, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Celebrant Keith Hunhdz will officiate. Burial will be in Martin Cemetery, Tipler.
