Iron Mountain-Dawn J. Turrie, age 94, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Friday, April 5, 2019, at Florence Health Services, Florence, Wis.

She was born June 2, 1924, in Milwaukee, Wis., daughter of the late Michael and Ruth (Payne) Stanhope. Dawn grew up in the south side of Milwaukee and graduated high school there.

Dawn worked for a steel corporation in the Detroit area for 12 years, where she served as vice president. She married David Turrie on October 28, 1966 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They resided in Farmington Hills, Mich. until moving to Iron Mountain in 1991.

She is survived by her Loving husband of 52 years, David; one step-daughter, Jacqueline (Karl) Johnson, Marquette, Mich.; and one step-grandson, Ryan.

In accordance with Dawn's wishes, private family services will be held. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery, Niagara, Wis.
