Florence: David Lee Nissen, age 56 of Florence County, has passed from the loving arms of his family to the open arms of his Lord on June 22, 2004. David, son of Herman and Phyllis (Price) Nissen, was born July 23, 1947 in Racine, Wisconsin. He moved to Florence as a child and lived there all his life. David was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Florence. David owned Nissen Transport. He had so many hobbies and passions but most of all, he enjoyed being outdoors. He surrounded himself with wonderful friends and many adventures. David will be remembered by his wife, Mary of 37 years, and his daughters; Laurie (Jim) Kowalkowski, Dawn ( Greg ) Koch and Dana (Arthur) Hammack. He also leaves behind his Grandmother Helen Brown, his parents Herman and Phyllis (Price) Nissen, brothers, Larry (Sherri) Nissen, Dennis Nissen and Dale (Kathy) Nissen their families and six precious grandchildren. David's family will be celebrating his life on Sunday, June 27, 2004. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 11:30 am at St. Johns Lutheran Church. The memorial service will be at 11:30 at St. Johns Lutheran Church. Pastor Andrew Schwartz will officiate. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society for Brain Cancer Research.
