Iron Mountain - David N. Crawford, 73, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Dickinson County Healthcare System with his loving wife by his side.

David was born on February 3, 1949, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the son of Norman and Vera (Barber) Crawford. He grew up in Flint, Mich., and was a 1968 graduate of Flint Northwestern High School. David proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. On January 15, 1976, he married Marie Heiple, and they continued to live in Flint until after retirement. David dedicated 32 years as a surgical nurses' aid for McLaren Regional Medical Center.

David thoroughly enjoyed doing genealogy work and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He shared his love of family history with all he knew and helped so many learn more about where they came from.

Survivors include his loving wife, Marie Crawford (of Iron Mountain, MI); two sons, John and Samuel Crawford; his daughter, Valerie McCorristin; sister, Gwen Finlayson; uncle, Wes Crawford; and his seven grandchildren.

In accordance with David's wishes, private family services will be held, and there will be a public memorial in the Spring to be announced at a later time.
