David G. Allen, 48, Crystal Falls Township, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Iron County Community Hospital, Iron River. He was born September 7, 1960, in Geneva, Illinois, son of the late Gilbert and Louise (Lammens) Allen. On July 9, 1983, in Batavia, Illinois he married Janie Hinterlong. She survives. David was a 1978 graduate of Batavia High School. He has lived near Amasa for the past 18 years and was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Amasa. David worked for DICSA delivering Meals on Wheels to area residents. Survivors include his wife, Janie Allen, Crystal Falls; two brothers, Robert (Maggie) Allen, Sheridan, Ill., Jim (Kathy) Allen, Aurora, Ill.; his mother and father-in-law, Robert and Patsy Hinterlong, Crystal Falls; one brother-in-law, Robert (Khon) Hinterlong; two sisters-in-law, Roberta Armstrong, Misty (Bruce) Holm; nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2009, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Amasa. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. Bonny Kinnunen will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
