Iron Mountain- Darlene K. Balliet, 74, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at her home. She was born August 13, 1945, in Petoskey, Mich., daughter of the late Josephine McWaters. Darlene grew up and attended school in Petoskey. She was united in marriage to Floyd Balliet on June 26, 1965, at Assembly of God Church in Boyce City, Mich. Darlene and Floyd resided in Petosky and Hillsdale before moving to Iron Mountain in 1968. She worked for many years as a CNA at Americana Nursing Home, Kingsford, Mich. Darlene loved to make pillow dolls and spend time with family and friends. Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Floyd, Iron Mountain; one son, Steven Balliet, Iron Mountain; and one daughter, Debie (Jim) Lane, Mount Pleasant, Mich. Visitation will be held Monday, August 17, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, Mich. A celebration of Darlene's life will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. James Danielson will officiate. Burial will be in Breitung Township Cemetery, Quinnesec, Mich.
