Iron Mountain-Danna R. Canavera-Mitchell, 76, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Monday, November 27, 2017, at ManorCare Nursing & Rehab., Kingsford, Mich. She was born January 31, 1941, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Earl and Madelyn (Willikson) Alexander. Danna graduated from Kingsford High School, Class of 1959. She married Jeno Canavera, he preceded her in 1998. Danna owned and operated Danna's Beauty Salon in Iron Mountain for over 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed scrapbooking, traveling, NASCAR, and always treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren. Danna is survived by one son, Lt. Colonel Dallan Scherer, Missouri; one daughter, Jodi Martin, Iron Mountain; one step-son, Jim (Leila) Canavera, Quinnesec, Mich.; one step-daughter, Nancy Webb, Iron Mountain; one brother, Jack (Claudia) Alexander, Arizona; one sister, Wanda (Gary) Brock, California; twelve grandchildren, Nick, Tad, Brittany, Anthony, Madelyn, Faith, Alicia, Jessica, Brian, Jeff, Paul and Steve; and by many great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Jeno, Danna was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Anderson. A graveside service will take place Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Breitung Township Cemetery, Quinnesec, Mich.
