Daniel Allen Holmberg, 40, of Kingsford, died Monday, March 26, 2007, at his home. He was born May 4, 1966, in Iron Mountain, son of Delore and Penny (Jones) Holmberg. Dan attended Florence High School, graduating in 1984. After graduation, Dan went on to serve in the US Army from 1984 to 1987, when he was honorably discharged. Dan was employed at Dickinson Homes. He loved to go four-wheeling, play pool, and spend time with his family. He is survived by his loving parents, Delore and Penny Holmberg, Homestead, Wis.; two children, Haley and Kyle; a special daughter, Anita; two brothers, David (Sandy) Holmberg, Quinnesec, Mich., Darren (Pam) Holmberg, Homestead, Wis.; one niece, Jennifer; two nephews, Christopher and Michael; his fiancé, Lisa Ahrendts and her children; a grandmother, Betty Domenget, Kingsford; aunts and uncles, Sharon (Michael) Safranek, Kathleen (Louis) DePas, Don Jones, and Terry (Jeannie) Holmberg; and many cousins. Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oliver and June Holmberg, Howard Jones, Wesley Domenget, and one cousin, Mark Safranek. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 28, 2007, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 3:00 PM, at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. A memorial will be established in Dan's memory.
