Dan Paul Chiamulera, 62, of Florence, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 29, 1952, in Iron Mountain, Mich., son of the late Bernard and Victoria (Galeazzi) Chiamulera. Dan grew up in Chicago, Ill., and then moved to Florence where he graduated from Florence High School, Class of 1970. He married Barbara Henning on August 5, 1972, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Stambaugh, Mich. Dan worked for the Florence County Sheriff's Department as a sergeant for over 27 years and served as the active officer for the DARE Program of Florence County. He attended St. John Lutheran Church, Florence. Dan was a skilled carpenter who besides building his own home spent a lot of time working on bookshelves, benches and picture frames as well as helping with home remodeling projects. He loved to fish and hunt; his favorite past time was spending quality time with his family and grandchildren. Dan's favorite vacation spot was New Smyrna Beach, Fla., where he enjoyed fishing, walking on the beach and the warm weather. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Barbara; two sons, Jeremy (Sara) Chiamulera, Rhinelander, Wis. and Joshua (Jennifer) Chiamulera, Rhinelander; two daughters, Jodi (David) Cronauer, Patton, Pa. and Jenette (Ryan) Gunville, Kingsford, Mich.; six brothers, Bernie (Lila) Chiamulera, Sagola, Mich., John (Pam) Chiamulera, Iron Mountain, Jim (Sharon) Chiamulera, Hindman, Ky., Tim (Teena) Chiamulera, Escanaba, Mich., Raymond (Dawn) Chiamulera, Noblesville, Ind., and Scott Chiamulera, Grand Rapids, Mich.; two sisters, Cheryl (Terry) Melelli, Iron Mountain, and Melissa (Kevin) Krokstrom, Omro, Wis.; ten grandchildren, Hunter, Timber, Ryder, Basil, Jade, Lexi, Lyric, Emma, June and Lena. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will also be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Florence. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran. Rev. Robin Zeratsky will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Florence.
