Niagara: Daisy Payette age 96, of Niagara, Wisconsin died Thursday November 25, 2004 at Maryhill Manor Nursing Home in Niagara.
Daisy was born on July 14, 1908 in Norway, Michigan daughter of the late Fred and Emily (Jewel) Bartsch. Daisy attended school at Geldmeyer Country School in Niagara. She married Alcide Payette in 1933. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1965. They resided many years in Niagara Township, and operated Payette's Tavern and Grocery store. After Alcide passed away Daisy continued to operate the business with her sister Hatie LaCount until retiring in 1978. They owned and operated the Tavern and Grocery store for over 40yrs. She was an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Niagara. Daisy enjoyed gardening, flowers and especially spending time with her family who she dearly loved.
She is survived by her devoted son Richard Payette of Niagara, WI, Three grandchildren, Kim (Mike) Martinez of Arizona, Debra Payette of Las Vegas, NV, and Patricia Robertson of California. Four great grandchildren Jason, Brandi, Bridger and Eric. Two nieces Betty (Stephan) Damian of Minneapolis, MN, and Priscilla (Wally) Lartz of Jackson, MI.
Besides her parents and husband Alcide Daisy is preceded by, one daughter Patricia Dawn Payette at birth in 1935. One brother William Bartsch. Four sisters, Hattie LaCount, Vina Hillman, Tressa Canavera, Rhoda Hall, and her daughter-in-law Darlene Wilson Payette.
Visitation will be Tuesday November 30, 2004 from 5-7pm at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel. Prayers will be Wednesday December 1, 2004 9:30am at the funeral home with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow 10am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Niagara. Fr. Michael Betley will officiate. Burial will be in Breitung Township Cemetery in Quinnesec, Michigan.
