Cyril Schneider CRYSTAL FALLS — Cyril L. Schneider, 97, of Crystal Falls, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at Iron County Medical Facility, where he had been a resident for 3 1/2 years. Cyril was born in Du Boise, Pa. on June 14, 1905, son of Mary Ann Slattery Schneider and William J. Schneider. He worked for many years for the Castle Rubber Co. in East Butler, Pa. and later the Goshen Rubber Co. in Goshen, Ind. until retirement. Cyril moved to Crystal Falls in 1989 and enjoyed many years living in the Pleasant Valley Apartments before moving into the Iron County Medical Care Facility. He was a former member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, Pa. and Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls. He was also a past governor and life member of the Goshen Moose Lodge. He is survived by a daughter, Betsy (Grayson) Crotty of Plymouth, Ind.; two sons, Corky (Jane) Schneider of Crystal Falls and C. Rex Schneider and friend, Chris Buckman of Gobles, lower Michigan; a sister-in-law, Rose Schneider of Renfrew, Pa.; four granddaughters; two grandsons; six great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two good friends, Everett Dozier of Florida and Tilio Marchi of Crystal Falls. Cyril was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Jewell Schneider in 1988 and nine siblings. Memorial donations may be made in Cyril's name to the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, Mich. 49920. There will be no visitation in Crystal Falls. Funeral services will be held in Goshen, Ind. at the Rieth, Rohrer, Ehret Funeral Home. Local arrangements are being handled by the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home of Crystal Falls.
