Crystal Welch, 50, quietly passed away in Michigan, on Sunday, January 15, 2023, under hospice care. She was born October 3, 1972, in Mullins, SC. She graduated high school from Anson Senior High and Anson Community College with a degree in computer programming. While in high school, she spent two summers working with Teen Missions of Florida in Australia, building a pole barn, and the next summer in Norway and Sweden, helping to build a church. After graduating Crystal traveled extensively throughout western Canada and the NW United States with New Life Girls Home. She spent another year with Teen Missions transporting mission groups via bus to do mission work in various states. She also worked as a lifeguard.
Crystal held various positions while she and her husband lived in Missouri and Houston, Texas. Most of all, she cherished being a stay-at-home mother with her two boys.
Surviving Crystal is her husband Leroy (Lee); her two sons, Jacob and Elijah, all of Michigan; her mother and father, Wayne and Mary Ann Jones of Polkton; and a sister Buffy Morgan of Marshville.
Preceding her in death were her paternal grandparents, Tom and Evelyn Jones of Lilesville; and maternal grandparents, JR (Bob) and Margaret Glenn of Polkton.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Grace Fellowship Church, Indian Trail, NC, with visitation from 11:00 am until 11:45 am and the service following at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Fellowship Church, PO Box280, Mineral Springs, NC 28108.
