Florence – Craig S. "Crackles" Gilbert, 75, of Florence, Wisc., passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Florence Health Service, Florence, Wisc.

He was born on June 18, 1949, in Crystal Falls, Mich., to the late Leonard Gilbert and Eleanore (Olson) Meyers

Craig was a lifelong resident of Florence, Wisc. He enjoyed fishing, 4-wheeling, hunting with his little brother who he taught how to clean a whitetail deer, and partying with his friends. His kids fondly remember pancake breakfasts which everybody agrees that he made the best pancakes on earth. He and his brother Butch taught their little sister how to shoot a gun and loved to go target practicing until she was good enough to out-shoot them. He worked for thirty years as a welder for American Dock and ten years for M J Electric as a mechanic.

He is survived by his sons, Adam Gilbert, Eugene Gilbert, and Steven Gilbert; daughters, Pamela Barnes, and Amanda Schafer; granddaughters, Amber Schroeder, and Sophia Gilbert-Kukura; great-granddaughters, Aubrella Schroeder, and Amaya Schroeder, brother, Dean Meyers; and sister, Dorothy Nichols.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather "Dad", Burnell Meyers; sister, Trudy Honeycutt; and brother, Dennis "Butch" Emery.
