Iron River – Cornelius “Neil” J. Veeser, 87, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Florence Health Services, Florence, WI.

He was born on August 6, 1939, in Alpha, MI, to the late William H. and Mary Jane (Moore) Veeser.

Neil was born and raised in Alpha, MI, where he was a graduate of Alpha High School. After graduation, he received a Business Degree from Michigan Tech.

He was employed in banking for five years prior to beginning his twenty-three years with the Iron County Dept of Social Services as a social worker. After retiring from Iron County, he worked for West Iron School System as a counselor from 1994 until his second retirement in 2004.

Neil was a member of Kiwanis, past president of Michigan State Employees Assoc., and a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian, MI.

He is survived by several nieces, and nephews; and his special friends, Kelli and Rodney Dood.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Veeser, William Veeser, and Gary Veeser.

In accordance with Neil’s wishes, private services will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls, MI.
