Colleen Middlin, 80, of Kingsford, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Dickinson County Hospital, Iron Mountain. She was born March 5, 1928, in Iron Mountain, daughter of Douglas and Mary (Sacchetti) Coombs. She married Paul Alan Middlin, he preceded her in death in 1996. Colleen had several hobbies throughout her life. She enjoyed golf, playing cards, going to the casino, reading, and Michigan rummy. Spending time with her family was something she always looked forward to and she treasured pictures of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Colleen was an excellent cook, especially Italian cuisine and pasties. Surviving Colleen is her mother, Mary Coombs, Iron Mountain; her son, Randal Alan (Patricia), Vassar, Mich.; three grandsons, Paul William (Jennifer), Lansing, Mich., David Alan (Kimberly), Ypsilanti, Mich., Thomas Douglas (Meredith Schuck), Saginaw, Mich.; three great-grandchildren, Eleanor, William, Wesley; and very beloved friend, Gerald Sturm, Kingsford. Besides her husband, Paul, Colleen was preceded in death by her father, Douglas. Visitation will be Sunday, March 9, 2008, from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm, at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The funeral service will be 3:00 pm Sunday, at the funeral home. Fr. Dan Zaloga will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
