Obituary

Iron Mountain: Clay Arnold Robinson Sr. age 71, of 700 East Breen Avenue, Kingsford, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rexton, Michigan, on April 30, 1932 to the late Daniel Henry and Vera Mae Robinson. He married Diane Hart from Gladstone, MI on June 2, 1973, and resided in East Kingsford. Clay was a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He had a very caring and loving demeanor and would never let anyone go with out. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. His free time was spent with his grandchildren, traveling with his wife, spending winters in Florida, flea marketing and attending Country music concerts. He was active in politics and the community. He will be missed by all. Clay was a volunteer driver for the Family Independence Agency and was also a laborer for the local 1329. He retired from custodial work with the Breitung Township Schools in 1994. While working he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time up at the cottage, that his family built, on West Bass Lake. He is survived by his wife Diane of 30 years, twelve children Bobbie Sue of Lansing, Terry (Threse) of Eaton Rapids, Laurie (Vern) Morrow of Lansing, Peggy (Terry) Demars of Kalkaska, Lori (Mike) Williams of Gladstone, Connie (Ted) Goetz of Norway, Vera (Ralph) Besson of New York, Clay Jr. of Niagara, Randy (Roxie) Deneau of Iron Mountain, Debbie Wozniak of Niagara, Kim (Chad) Tregillis of Quinnesec, Kerrie(Adam) Steinbrecher of Aurora, six brothers Edsil (Mary), Stafford(Martha), Everette (Bonnie), Raymond, Fred (Marybeth), David (Linda), six sisters Dorothy Drossart, Catherine Alexander, Almeda Bricker, Linda Drossart, Wanda (Rod) Wills, Brenda (Dennis) Chenier, twenty-seven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Clay was preceded in death by a son Gregory Allen who died at birth in 1975. Visitation will be Thursday, June 5, 2003, from 4-7p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be at 7:00p.m. at the Funeral Home. Father Dan Zaloga will officiate. Burial will be in Breitung Township Cemetery in Quinnesec, Michigan. Pallbearers will be Adam Steinbrecher, Chad Tregillis, Vern Morrow, Mike Williams, Jami Godfrey and Russell Bath. Clay had fought a long battle with heart disease, therefore, in lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The Charter Township of Breitung - Law Enforcement Fund at 3851 Menominee Street, Quinnesec, Michigan 49876 Friends may leave condolences and tributes to Clay's family at www.jacobsfuneralhomes.com.
