Virginia- Clarice J. Gagnea, 88, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, formerly of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
She was born on January 11, 1934, in Stambough, Mich., daughter of the late Irving and Mary (Dascola) Schultz. Clarice grew up in Caspian, Mich., and graduated from Stambaugh High School, class of 1952, where she was a cheerleader and member of the National Honor Society. Clarice married John "Jack" Gagnea on January 3, 1953, in Weiden, Germany. They resided in both Germany and Fort Knox, Kentucky, before moving to Valparaiso, Indiana. Both Clarice and Jack moved to Virginia Beach after retiring and then returned to the Kingsford area in 1998. Jack preceded her in death on September 7, 2000.
Clarice enjoyed shopping, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Jan (Joe) Oelling, Carol (Jonathan) Werner, Jacquelin "Doodybug" (Chuck) Radabaugh, and John (Terri) Gagnea; sisters, Bootsy Toti, Betty Lou McCarthur, Mary Lee Baldwin, CeCe Lance, and Bonnie Baldwin; brothers, Irv "Sonny" Schultz, and Mike Schultz; grandchildren, Brandon Oelling, Michael Oelling, Joey Oelling, and Heidi Haber; and by her nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, Mary Walker, and father, Irving Schultz, Clarice was preceded in death by one sister, Delores Johnson.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Resthaven Cemetery, Iron River, Mich. A luncheon will follow at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River, Mich.
