Clarence Norman
CRYSTAL FALLS — Clarence R. Norman, 57, of Crystal Falls died peacefully at home Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002.
He was born June 28, 1945, in Port Union, Newfoundland, Canada, son of Henry and Mary (Gullage) Norman.
Mr. Norman worked for many years as a commercial fisherman in the Atlantic Fisheries off the coast of Newfoundland.
After moving to this area, Clarence married the former LaVerne Bainbridge on June 23, 1989, in Iron Mountain.
He is survived by his wife, LaVerne; his mother, Mary Norman of Newfoundland, Canada; a son, Shaun and daughter, Shelly Norman, also of Newfoundland; his stepchildren, Lisa (John) Teichert of Alpha, Sheri Halverson and Pat Chipmen, both of Crystal Falls, Steve Ponchaud of Niagara, Wis., and Kevin Halvaerson of Iron River, along with 10 grandchildren. Clarence is also survived by sister, Shirley (Clayton) Pardy and Marilyn (Don) Hiscock, both of Newfoundland; a brother, Roy (Helen) Norman of Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada; special friends, John (Debbie) Payne, Aiden (Winifred) Mackie, and one aunt, Elizebeth Hamilin, all of Newfoundland, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry.
Clarence wished for no services and burial of ashes to be done in Port Union, Newfoundland, Canada.
The family is being served by the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home of Crystal Falls.
