Charles W. Pittsley, 61, of Florence, Wis., passed away Monday, June 23, 2008, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, Mich.
He was born November 9, 1946, in Ontonagon, Mich., son of the late Clyde and Evelyn (Pittsley) Bennett. Charles grew up in Wyoming, Mich. and graduated from Rogers High School, Wyoming.
Charles went on the serve in the United States Army for three years as an engineer. After being honorably discharged, he resided in Grand Rapids, Mich., were he worked for the City of Grand Rapids in the refuse department. He retired in 1994, in 2005, he moved back to this area. Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by two daughters, Dawn Mathison, Iron River, Mich., Tammy (Calbert) Ramsay, Texas; one brother, Russell Pittsley, Spread Eagle, Wis.; two grandchildren, Tanya, Alexis; one nephew, Kristopher (Jesse) Smith, Grand Rapids; one step-nephew, Spike Fisk, Ironwood, Mich.; one step-niece, Midge Lagrow, Ironwood.
