Obituary

Charles (Pete) Edward Davis, 74, of Florence, Wis., passed away Thursday, February 28, 2008, at Dickinson Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain, Mich. He was born April 15, 1933, in Tipler, Wis., son of the late Arvie Smith and Lucille (Martinson) Davis. In December 1953 he married Mary Meyers and they had five children together. In July 1986 he married Joyce Wilson. Pete was a logger, hauled milk for Frigo, worked construction and at Lodal until his retirement in 1996. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping, raised geese, rabbits, chickens and enjoyed working in his huge garden. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Davis; three sons, Steve, Chuck, and Raymond; three daughters, Linda Klahn (Al) Baumgart, Carmen Davis, and Lori (Jim) Parnitzke; six step-children, Rick Foltz, Randy (Denise) Foltz, Violet Dickenson, Jeannie (Ron) Minnick, Rene' Davis, Sam Chavez; 17 grandchildren, Kim Davis, Josh (Tina) Davis, Michelle (Eric) Voland, Kim (Corey Stoeckigt) Dedering, Chad (Chris Stannis) Baumgart, Jeremy (Ka Khang) Baumgart, Rhonda (Chris) Dahlby, John Davis, Zibby (Scott) Strasser, Steven (fiance' Sarah Maxon) Davis, Marvin Davis, Carrie Jo (Sean) Bright, Katrina Kroeplin, Alan Foltz, Nicolas Gonzales, Brandon Foltz, Edwin Chavez; 15 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Arnie and Dale Smith, both of Baraboo, Wis. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dolly Meyers, Pat Roehl and Shirley Pormenter. Pete will be sadly missed by his family, friends, his lab Holly and his pals from the Northern Lights. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday March 3, 2008, at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. Friends may call Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Rev.
