Carrie A. Merrill, 36, of Channing, Mich., passed away Tuesday, February, 27, 2007, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born February 17, 1971, in Manitowoc, Wis., daughter of Dwaine and Dianna (Schabel) Zahorik. She married Lyle Merrill December 7, 1990, in Iron Mountain, Mich. Carrie grew up in Aurora, Wis., and graduated from Florence High School in 1989. She had worked for many different places in the area over the years, but most recently she has worked for the Restaurant in Channing, St. Rose Catholic Church, and Doctor Batti's office. Carrie resided in Iron Mountain and Quinnesec before moving to Channing in 2002. She enjoyed many hobbies including, cooking, baking, gardening, flowers, sewing and the Rendezvous Club. Besides her husband, Lyle, and her parents, Carrie is survived by her children, Seth and Kati, at home; one brother, Scott (Margo Wisniewski) Zahorik, Aurora; two sisters, Carlene Hedmark, Florence, Wis., Kristina (Tom) Williams, Florence; mother-in-law, Marcia Garverick, Lake City, Fla.; brother-in-law, Jay (Debbie) Merrill, Quinnesec, Mich.; three nieces, Rebecca Hedmark, Florence, Beth Hedmark, Florence, Christina Merrill, Quinnesec; one nephew, Jacob Hedmark, Florence; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Carrie was a breath of sunshine and her smile lit up a room, anyone that ever met her felt loved. Her family and friends meant the world to her. She was a loving and devoted mother and wife to Seth, Kati, and Lyle. Visitation will be Monday, March 5, 2007, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. A memorial will be established in Carrie's memory.
