Carole Grace Garnsey, 84, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson, Iron Mountain, Mich. after a brief battle with cancer.

Carole was born on December 14, 1938, in Iron Mountain, Mich., to the late George and LuBelle (Blatchford) Anderson. She graduated from Kingsford High School in 1956 and then went to work for the WB Thompson Company. She stayed with them until she retired in the early 2000's.

Carole loved to garden and be outdoors. She enjoyed her numerous rescue dogs and Golden Retrievers. Carole also enjoyed reading, especially historical fiction, travel, country music, going to the county fairs with her family, and her neighborhood community.

She was especially proud of her family, fierce independence, many years of faithful work, and her country.

Carole is survived by her sons, Gene Plante and Craig (Beth) Plante; grandchildren, Kara (Brent Dempsey) Plante, Leah (Ben) Schreff, Nathaniel Plante, and Rebecca Plante; great-grandchildren, Jack Dempsey, Milo Schreff, and Hayes Schreff; and by her special friend, Ray Famiani.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 7, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, Mich. A Celebration of Life Service will follow on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
