Carol Jean McCarthy, 67, of Iron River, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Northstar Health System hospital, Iron River. She was born December 27, 1943, in Stambaugh, daughter of the late Donald and Lillian (Lehtonen) Malott. Carol was a homemaker and had been a Nurse Aide at Laturi's Nursing Home. She also served as a volunteer in the kitchen at Iron County General Hospital. Survivors include four daughters, Cherie (Jamie Jean) McCarthy, Michelle (Levi) Jarvi, both of Iron River Cara (Charles) Knapp, Bonnie (Neil) Bostwick, both of Yuma, Ariz.; one son, John (Pam) Bostwick, Houghton; one brother, Don (Velma) Malott, Las Vegas, Nev.; eight grandchildren; and special friends, Jerry Montambo, Mary Burns and Paula Maki. Visitation will be will Saturday, May 21, 2011, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Iron River. The funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m., Saturday at the church. Rev.
