Carol J. Santi Herbert, 60, of Crystal Falls, passed away Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born February 26, 1953, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Paul and Renja (Rosenlund) Santi. Carol grew up in Crystal Falls, Michigan. Carol graduated with her master's degree in nursing. She worked as RNA at the Manor in Crystal Falls, Michigan, in Florence, Wisconsin at the Florence Villa Nursing Home, and at the VA Hospital in Iron Mountain, Michigan. One of Carol's life goals was to treat people the best they deserved and frequently put others before herself. Carol enjoyed attending her grandson and granddaughters events when they were held at the Forest Park Schools. She also enjoyed camping, cooking, shopping, and visiting with her close friends Joylyn, Jan, and Joyce. She is survived by one daughter, Trisha Herbert of Appleton, Wis.; two grandchildren, Jeremy (Lindsay) Alquist of Crystal Falls and Samantha Dobson of Crystal Falls; one great-grandchild, Dani Alquist of Crystal Falls; five brothers, Clifford Santi of Crystal Falls, Ken (Lisa) Santi, of Crystal Falls, Michael Santi of Venice Beach, Calif., Richard (Lisa) Santi of Crystal Falls, and Raymond (Renee) Santi, Thompson, Mich.; one sister Shirley (Ray) Gagnon of Milwaukee, Wis.; one uncle, Joe (Janice) Santi, Iron Mountain, Mich. and numerous nieces and nephews. The visitation will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Micheal Laakko will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in the spring.
