Carol R. Bjorkman, 69, of Niagara, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.
She was born October 1, 1942, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Ruben and Ruth (Struebling) DeClark. Carol grew up in Niagara and graduated from Niagara High School in 1962. She married James Bjorkman on August 25, 1962, in Niagara.
Carol worked in the housekeeping department at the Hyland Nursing Home before retiring. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pembine, and was a very active member of the auxiliary.
She enjoyed many hobbies. Carol was a certified porcelain doll maker, and enjoyed hunting and fishing, the outdoors, was an avid gardener and even cut her own wood for the fireplace.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, James, Maryhill Manor, Niagara; three sons, Daniel (Pamela) Bjorkman, Norway, Mich., Wayne (Cathy) Bjorkman and Paul Bjorkman, both of Niagara; one daughter, Pamela (Michael) Rice, Florence, Wis.; two brothers, Ernie (Wendy) DeClark, Antigo, Wis., Peter (Marcia) DeClark, Niagara; two sisters, Beth Spade, Homestead, Pat (Norbert) Zuern, Niagara; eight grandchildren, Danielle, Jeremy, Amanda, Wayne, Jr., Ryan, Allie, Michaela and Zachary; one great-granddaughter, Giovanna; numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Carol was preceded in death by two sisters, Gail Miller and Doris Lusardi.
The visitation will be Thursday, February 2, 2012, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Gene Wickman will officiate. Burial will be in Norway Township Cemetery, Norway in the spring.
