Carl A. Loppnow, 88, of Florence, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Appleton Care Center, Appleton.
He was born January 19, 1923, in Milwaukee, son of the late Charles and Lydia (Lemke) Loppnow. Carl married Mildred "Millie" Zeaman on June 7, 1948, in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on November 25, 2010.
Carl worked for Stearns Electric in Milwaukee until retiring. After retirement, Carl and Millie moved to Florence where they owned and operated the Keyes Lake Sport Shop. Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, and living on Keyes Lake in Florence.
He is survived by one son, John (Julie) Loppnow, Hortonville; three grandchildren, Christa (Kevin) McGinnity, Blue Mounds, Matthew (Jayme) Loppnow, Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Kellie (Christian) Hill, Black Creek; three great-grandchildren, Jackson Loppnow, Samuel McGinnity, and Avery Loppnow; other relatives and friends.
Along with his wife, Carl was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Loppnow, Harold Loppnow, and Gilbert Loppnow.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 19, 2011, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Rev. Robin Zeratsky will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Florence.
