Florence: Bruce M. Schabel age 63 of Aurora, Wisconsin died Saturday March 8, 2003 at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette, Michigan. Bruce was born on October 23, 1939 in Aurora, Wisconsin son of the late Maynard and Laona (Liddell) Schabel. Bruce grew up and attended school in Aurora, Wisconsin. He married Judith Hess on November 7, 1958 in Iron Mountain. They resided in Florence for 22yrs before moving to Aurora in 1995. Bruce worked for the Florence County Highway Department since 1979. He was an active member of AFSCME Council 40 of the AFL-CIO. Bruce enjoyed many hobbies including, hunting, fishing, and just being out in the woods. Bruce loved his family and was always there to lend a helping hand to a friend or neighbor. Bruce is survived by, his wife of 44years Judy. Three sons, Bruce (Hope) Schabel of Iron River, MI., Keith (Lisa) Schabel of Florence, WI., Kevin (Dana) Schabel of Florence, WI., One daughter, Angela (Richard) Maycroft of Aurora, WI., Two brothers, Willard Schabel of Aurora, WI., James Schabel of Aurora, WI., Four sisters, Claire (George) Moser of Maryland, Evelyn Schabel of Aurora, WI., Sharon (Joe) Lison of Wyoming, Dianna (Dwaine) Zahorik of Aurora, WI., 8 Grandchildren, Garrett, Gregory, Lucas, Brett, Rebecca, Ryan, Courtney, and Chanel. Numerous Nieces and nephews. Preceded by, One son Paul in 1993. Two daughters, Jane Schabel in 1962, Rebecca Schabel in 1964. One brother Kenneth Schabel. Visitation will be Tuesday March 11, 2003 from 4-7pm at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home in Florence, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be Tuesday 7PM at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Aurora Cemetery in the spring. A memorial will be established in Bruce's memory.
