Crystal Falls- Brett R. Hackett, 36, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Friday, June 26, 2020, at his home. He was born May 24, 1984, in Orange, California, son of Leon "Lee" and Patricia (Ellis) Hackett. Brett grew up in Texas and California and was a graduate of Orange High School in Orange, California in 2002. He proudly served in the United States Army Infantry, 11 Bravo, during the Iraq War, until his honorable discharge. Brett served two tours in Iraq and the National Guard Service. He enjoyed fishing, snowboarding, baseball and hockey, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his father, Lee Hackett, Crystal Falls, one sister, Shannon Hackett; fiancé, Laila Vanderwall; one uncle, Steve Hackett; and by special friend Jerry Wall. Brett was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Hackett; one aunt, Jan Hackett; and by a close cousin, Adrianna Ceron. Private graveside services will be held.
