Iron Mountain: Brenda Mattard, age 35, of Upper Pine Creek Road in Iron Mountain, died October 24, 2003, at her home. Brenda was born September 25, 1968, in Cudahy, Wisconsin, to Robert and Georgiann (Chrisman) Gelhar. When she was in second grade the family moved to Florence, Wisconsin. She attended Florence Schools and graduated from Florence High School in 1986. She married Jeffery Mattord on May 11, 1996, at St. Mary and Joseph's Church in Iron Mountain, Michigan. They lived in the Upper Pine Creek area and she was employed as a Sales Associate at Wells Fargo Bank. She was active in Habitat for Humanity, Girl Scouts, and was secretary for the Kingsford Youth Wrestling. She was very active in all aspects of her family life. She was an artist, who also enjoyed knitting and reading. Besides her parents and husband, Jeffery, she is survived by two sons Brad Herman and Adam Mattord at home, two daughters Nicole Herman and Morgan Mattord at home, two brothers Scot (Brenda) Gelhar and Michael (Jennifer) Gelhar both of Oshkosh, Wisconsin one sister Andrea Gelhar of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, one brother-in-law Tim and Lynn Mattord of Iron Mountain, Paternal grandparents Ralph and Jeanne Gelhar of Mukwonago, Wisconsin, and Maternal grandparents Edwin and Virginia Chrisman of Aurora, Wisconsin, and Leon and Charlotte Mattord and Cyril and Gladys Mattord both of Iron Mountain, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 28, 2003, from 4 – 8 P.M. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 29, 8:30A.M. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow 9:00A.M.at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate. Burial will be in Breitung Township Cemetery.
