Billie F. Beilfuss, 85, of Crystal Falls, Mich., died Friday, November 7, 2008, at Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls.
Billie was born on January 21, 1923, in Hammond, Indiana daughter of the late Ted and Emma (Yanke) Yescitz. She married Louis "Bud" Beilfuss on November 1, 1947, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Hammond. He preceded her in death on October 14, 1993. Billie was a professional singer and graduate of the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago.
After being married Billie, along with her husband, Bud resided in Highland, Indiana for 33 years before moving to Crystal Falls in 1987. While in Crystal Falls, Billie attended Christ United Methodist Church. She was active in the Masonic Order of the Eastern Star where she served as Upper Peninsula Vocalist. Billie was aslo involved in the Musicale, the Variety Show, and was a volunteer for the V.J. Day Celebration. She was an active member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Highland, Ind.
Billie is survived by, two sons, Robert (Melissa) Beilfuss, Chesterton, Ind., Bruce (Cindy) Beilfuss, Ashland, Wis.; two daughters, Vickie Beilfuss, Highland, Diane (Mark) Martens, Naperville, Ill.; one sister, Bess (Ray) Crossland, Gig Harbor, Wash.; seven grandchildren, Tom (Stacie), Dawn (Jason), Brian, Mike, Matthew, Marena, Porter; five great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Larry (Sue) Beilfuss, Crown Point, Ind.; one sister-in-law, Carol Smolen, Whiting, Ind.; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Hilda Kaegebein.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 9, 2008, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. Rev. Stephen Rhoades will offer prayers Sunday, 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
Additional visitation will be Tuesday, November, 11, 2008, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Kuiper Funeral Home, Highland, Ind. The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 12, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home. Rev. John Helt will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, Ind.
